How it works
SafeShare re-encodes the image, removes supported metadata, and flattens redaction and blur regions into the downloaded pixels.
Hidden metadata and visible information
Metadata cleanup removes supported hidden fields. Names, faces, addresses and other details visible in the pixels need manual review.
Assistive text detection
Optional local English OCR can suggest potential email addresses, phone numbers, URLs and IP addresses. It may miss, split or misread text, so every suggestion requires user review.
Redaction and blur
Opaque redaction replaces pixels permanently. Blur changes their appearance but should not protect highly sensitive text.
Limitations
Text detection is assistive and does not prove an image is safe to share. SafeShare does not detect faces, QR codes or content credentials. Review the exported image before sharing.
